Our Story to Tell
October 9, 2024alumni
For Christians, stories are a central part of existence. They inspire us to do good and to be better than we would be if left to our own thoughts and ideas about the world.
Stories mold our experiences, stir our imaginations and connect our lives to the eternal God. They tether us to earlier generations. Stories keep our hearts and minds focused on things that matter—things that are so important we could not live without them.
Stories also help form our identities. They allow us to discover our place in the world as we’re reminded of our calling, potential and capability. They help us figure out who we are.
Who we are, in fact, is this: Characters in a story we did not write, transformed into a people we could never be without the God who has authored it all.
At Trevecca, ours is a beautiful story, filled with the wonders of God and the dreams He has placed in our heart. It’s a story of conversion and sanctification; of unlikely heroes and great testimonies. It’s a story of how God’s grace and power can shape human lives. It’s the story of how God uses ordinary people to change the world.
It’s a story almost 125 years in the making. It’s our story to tell.
Come home to the Hill this fall and help us remember and connect with the people, places and experiences that have shaped us all. Homecoming is where our shared Trevecca story comes to life. Whether it’s the lessons learned or the friendships formed, your story is an essential part of our history. Join us November 1-2 as we gather to celebrate the stories that have made Trevecca what it is today.
We can't wait to see you at Homecoming!
